Utah Trip 2011

Ok, So my sister so lovingly pointed out, that I blogged my Utah trip from 2010...NOT the one we took this year!!
So here it is!: After I got notification that I was going to be laid off from the bank.. we recieved a graduation announcement.. my brothers "son" was graduating from Syracuse High School... We looked at each other and said "Think we can make it? Think we can pull the kids out of school for a couple days? think so? Ok..." So.... I spent the next few weeks preparing in secret.. WE figured if we told the kids we were going, and couldn't make it theyd be sad.. and if we told the kids we were going.. and we went.. they'd misbhave and be snots from all the excitement they were building up... so ... we created Operation Super Secret Vaca... Or (SSV for short) I posted and spoke about SSV.. and ONLY.....3 people besides me and Gilbert knew we were going!! My brother, sister in law... and Dad... Kept is on the down low... I took the kids to school Thursday June 2... while they were at school... I took the car in for some routine maintenance... and than came home... and packed thier bags... stuffed the bags in the car.. washed it... and took a nap so I could help Gilbert drive... The kids got out of school... and I picked them up..making sure to keep them out of the back seat so they wouldn't see the trunk packed... Gilbert got home, and got ready to go... we pulled in the drive way, and he met us out there..and told the kids we were taking them to dinner.... well... By that time, I couldn't keep them out of the back seat... and all of a sudden before we hit Paso.. the questions started coming... "Mom is this my pillow?" "Hey Dad, Where are we going?" "Mom, why did you want my DS?" "We aren't just going to dinner are we...?" "Mom... this car is packed full... where we going?" "Does anyone else know where we are going?" We kept this up... for a while... not giving them ANY info... We stopped at Mom's favorite fast food.. Sonic in Bakersfield.. and hit the hiway again... I couldn't do it anymore.. we had kept the secret for hours... for weeks... Somewhere out paswt Bakersfield, we confirmed we were headed to Utah! They were SOOO excited... so... NOW I expect them to sleep...right?? WRONG!!! They fell asleep somewhere near Las Vegas... and were able to wake up after we got to Utah! Gilbert and I kept taking turns...an hour at a time.. it seemed to go FOREVER.. neither of us could sleep... between the overly packed car, and the Utah road construction, that I SWEAR they were doing LAST time we went though there.... the roads were rough and it was dark! So we got to Micah and Tanyas.. kids well rested... and Mom and Dad EXHAUSTED.... So Gilbert and I took a nap while the kids were more than entertained by Sam and Chaze. And like a bad Mom... we were having such a great time... I took....no pictures.... OK...here are the pictures I DID take.... heheheheee

Theres Sam graduating! We don't know...at this point... whose cords he stole..oh sorry "borrowed" cause they looked cool... but heres Sam! YEAH SAM!!

Here are the snow capped mountains we got to look at all weekend long.. it was a beautiful 85-90 degrees... and the mountains still had snow. We were able to take our time there this time, and it was so much fun. Tanya and I got up early Saturday morning, and went garage saleing with a couple of the neighbors.. IF I had room... to take SEVERAL things home with me.. . I SO would have... OH my.. they know how to garage sale.. it was fun.. I just wish I had girl friends here that would care to do that...

When we got back, we had some lunch and we headed to Smith and Edwards maybe...it was either that, or Roy Aquatic Center... It was Roy's I think.. cause we went to Smith and Edwards on Sunday morning maybe... We had a great time playing in the water, and than back to Tanya and Micah's to play in the water some more.. and than a great family picninc...bbq... pot luck in the back yard. I SO WISH I had pictures of these things.. but it was so relaxing and kick back.. it just didn't happen... we had a great time talking with the neighbors... eating Navajo Tacos (which the girls keep begging me to make again!) and an amazing peach cobbler made by Jared.... the neighbor. I didn't want to leave...

Sunday was our last full day there... we completed that day with a trip to the mall... and Smith and Edwards... Smith and Edwards..intresting... thats all there is to say about it.. pulling up you think you are entering a shack...and it jsut goes forever..with EVERYTHING....EVERYTHING under the sun... military gear, kitchen supplies, guns fishing stuff, clothes, food, shoes, EVERYTHING... Walmart on steroids... thats all there is to say...

We went home, well to Micah and Tanya's to prepare for an early departure...

Than we left early Monday morning... and drove home... allllll day long... Went through the Gorge.. which we all know is my favorite part... Stoped in Vegas at the reservation for 4th of July supplies.. and came home.. relaxed, rested, tired, and sad... we had to leave everyone there

:(
DEFINATLY ready to go back... now... today.. Get in the Truck Chuck, and lets go....

Too bad its not possible... we got obligations here, and Gilbert reminds me we need to be responsible :)

Follow up to summer...

OK, I just uploaded a ton of pictures, (from facebook, as I document just about everything there) but this may give me an opputuntity to give some story... (please forgive me if some of them are repeats from the last post)

This here, is Lilianna. For those that know Gilberts family, this is Lupe's oldest... well... first... well... this is the big sister of a little bun in the oven! Yes, I'm gonna be a Tia again, and Lilliana will have a sibling, we are all VERY excited! At any rate, Lilliana is about 18 months now, and this is how you get her to smile... you ask to see her teeth! Shes just so stinking cute with those big brown eyes! I can't get enough of her!

Pancake art! One of our favorite pass times these last few months...
These are the mustaches and the smilie face.. I do the kids names, and flowers, mickey mouse.. stars... hearts... arrows.. any simple drawing can be done in pancake art.. and since I am not much of an artist... Its only simple images... The kids enjoy it, we have some good laughs... and lots of flops... good thing they are edible... even if they don't "look good"...

Beck is the bravest... we showed up and Tio Faustino and Tio David were BBQing oysters.. Beck was the only kid of mine to try it... and she ate 3... had to have the full experience... one plain, one with lime and one with lime and hot sauce... Shes a trooper!

One of the great t-shirts I found at the fair! Dad liked it so much that he sent me back the next day to purchase it! And those that know the San Miguel Fire Department... theres LOTS of old guys!

This JUST happened... Last Thursday, so Aug4th. We went out to Larry and Kathy's to help Larry split some wood. Hailey sat under the tree playing games on my ipod, While mom, dad Larry, and I ( and after Gilbert got off work, Gilbert too) went off to splitting and stacking wood... The men left, and as Mom and I were walking to the car, Hailey in tow... she slipped on a sharp rock and down she went... I thought things were alright, until she rolled over... I had other plans that night, so I got on the phone to dad, who promptly came and picked her up.. and after an hour in the ER away she came with 6 stiches and fun story to tell...

On to Sunday night... August 7th... this is what we see over the back fence!!" OH MY MOM-DAD the Mill is on FIRE!!!"

SO we sat out back, watching the fire trucks show up and all of a sudden, no more smoke..

:( No the mill wasn't on fire... :( much to my sick enjoyment of watching things burn... I was REALLY hoping for some fun flame shots... it ended up being a small field accross the street... and not the mill... no fun for us!

JOEL! My stinking adorable nephew turned 1!! He was so excited... he fell asleep shortly after the cake was cut...he didn't even get to open his presents :( But we had a great bbq, the kids swam, jumped in the bounce house, and on the trampoline...Ya know.. all the normal things of a Celedon Family Party!

I do think this might be a repeat of an earlier post.. the one where we went Camping... I will have to add a camping post, if when I am done with this, and I go back and check and see that I didn't post about the camping trip cause that was an AMAZING fun family trip. At any rate, we came through San Fransisco... so we stopped...to take the ever famous tourist picture...me and Gilbert in San Fran

Well before we went camping... we lost the cat, or so we thought... But ever since he came

home...Renny and Cheyne can't get enough of each other.. they are besties! :)

Yeah... We don't dial 911...

A fun sign we saw at the fair....

This was just today.. Hailey hijacked SOMEONES shades... and she just t hinks shes all that and a bag of chips...

We have these things EVERYWHERE!!! They are huge.. and loud.. and they come in the house... and ugh!

Here are some things I have learned from my kids this summer!

"Rawr means I love you in Dinosaur"

"Unicorns eat rainbows and poop butterflies sneeze skittle and fart jelly beans..."

"We got jipped like peanut butter!" ( what that means.. beyond me but it makes me laugh!)

" Eat those cheeze its!" (another one.. not sure what it means but ... whatever!)

Gilbert can now sign "You go girl" in ASL

Another WAY cool sign I saw at the fair... it made me laugh and I had to send it to Gilbert while he was away!

And the last of the "facebook" update photos.. Thompson Square.. they were amazing... I love them... they were at the fair with Jason Aldeen... and honestly... I love Thompson Square more that Jason... so ... there you have it! An update of the last month and a half... I will now go check if we did a camping post!

Summer updates

So, I can't beleive that I have posted more to my blog in the last 3 months than I have since creating this thing 3 years ago.

What kind of updates do I have:....

We had the MidState Fair, the last week of July. We were able to take the kids on the last day and spent the afternoon making them feel like puking! They had a blast, I got sunburned, and Gilbert... well, he stood patiently and waited while the kids did "thier thing"... They were able to eat a ton of cotton candy, cinnimon rolls that melt in thier mouths, and huge bags of kettle corn .. the best stuff on Earth! A dear old friend took McKayla to see Maroon 5, and Train, and another friend was able to take Beck to see Lady Antebellum... Gilbert and my date night with the same frined was non existant because he had to go out of town, but that left three girls on the loose to see Jason Aldeen! (with special guests, Thompson Square) they were all spectacular! And we all had a great time at our respective concerts!

The kids and I have been having a great time enjoying doing whatever sounds good that morning all summer long... but its HIGH TIME this momma gets a job..more on that in a little bit.

The days have been filled with friends coming over, and swimming at the pools, and outings to take Dad lunch and even some watching Grandpa and Bob do concrete up at the school.
